Important: How to Review and Update 2026-2027 Course Requests FINAL ACTION

Dear Indian Land High and 8th Grade Parents and Students,

As we finalize our planning for the 2026-2027 school year, it is time for a final review of your student’s course requests. This is a critical step to ensure your student is on the right path for their academic goals.

Please follow the steps below to access requests via a computer or web browser, as the mobile app may not display the full details required for this process.

How to View Course Requests
To see the courses currently selected for next year, please log in through the PowerSchool Portal:

Go to the PowerSchool Website: Navigate to the district’s PowerSchool URL on your computer.

Log In: Enter your student or parent username and password.

Find 'Class Registration': On the left-hand navigation menu, click the Class Registration icon.

Review the List: You will see the list of courses requested for the 26-27 school year.

Please Note: These are requests only and are not a guaranteed schedule. Final schedules depend on course availability and master scheduling constraints.

Resources to Guide Your Decisions
Before making any changes, we strongly encourage you to review the following resources found on our school website:

ILHS School Counseling Website: For graduation requirements and FAQs.

2026-2027 Course Guide: To read course descriptions, prerequisites, and grade-level requirements.

If you still have questions, ILHS students may contact their assigned counselor; ILMS 8th grade students may email Mrs. Ramieri at Jennifer.Ramieri@LCSD.K12.SC.US (please type “ILMS Course Request Question” in the subject line)

Exciting Opportunities for 8th Graders
We are pleased to announce that rising 8th graders now have the opportunity to take English 1 Honors and/or Geometry with Statistics Honors.

Eligibility: Participation is based on recommendations from current teachers.

Action Needed: Interested students should submit the change form below.

How to Request a Change (Final Window)
This is the final opportunity to make changes to course requests. If a course appears on your request list and is successfully scheduled, you will be required to remain in that class for the duration of the term.

The Link: https://forms.gle/ZFwKsgPfUqPgKXXE9

Deadline: All changes must be submitted by Tuesday, March 10th, at 4:10 PM. ---

The Recommendation & Override Process
Once the change form window closes, teachers will review the lists to provide their professional recommendations.

Teacher Review: Teachers (8th grade through High School) will confirm if the requested level (College Prep vs. Honors or AP) is the best academic fit.

Counselor Outreach: If a teacher’s recommendation differs from what you requested, a school counselor will call the parent/guardian during the week of March 23rd.

Override Option: During that call, counselors will offer an Override Form if you wish to proceed with your original choice despite the teacher’s recommendation.

Thank you for your attention to these important deadlines. We look forward to a great 2026-2027 school year!

Best regards,

ILHS School Counseling Department

A group of at least six people kneel, sit, and stand around a large mural or banner laid flat on a light floor, collaboratively painting a stylized natural landscape. The design centers on a large brown trunk with branching limbs and broad areas of light and dark green foliage; other sections are being painted pink and many areas remain white with pencil outlines. Paint pots and brushes surround the canvas; the artists wear casual clothes and some wear aprons. The indoor studio background shows a plain light wall, a few small dark electrical outlets, and a rack with rolled materials.
A colored drawing titled “The Garden that Forgot the Clock” centered on an hourglass: the bottom bulb contains a vibrant green tree rooted in soil, the top bulb holds a barren dead tree with exposed roots and branches. Two dark textured pillars resembling tree trunks flank the hourglass with visible roots at their bases. Broken clocks with Roman numerals appear on either side in the background; a blue flower appears left and a pink flower right. The scene sits on a green textured background. Document header lists student name (Taylor Thorns‑Hick), grade 10, school, and teacher. A small photograph in the top right shows an outdoor tilted cube installation painted with a figure on a red background near trees and a building.
A large collaborative painting spread flat on the floor shows a fantastical landscape: a light blue sky with three elongated golden clocks (appearing to float or melt), a central spiky crystalline formation in grey and blue, and a lush green field with many flowers. Several people paint different sections; some areas (sky, clocks, crystal, parts of foliage) are colored while foreground flowers and leaves remain black‑and‑white sketches. The foreground shows a person’s arm with a green smiley drawn on it painting foliage; another person with long dark hair paints a clock. Many small paint pots and brushes are scattered nearby and a small printed reference image of the finished artwork lies at the lower right.
Congratulations to the ILHS Winter Percussion team to its first performance of the season — marking the very first time Indian Land has had indoor marching winter percussion. Not only did they perform… they earned First Place!
