W.I.N. Update - Oct. 5, 2025

Warrior Family,

🎶 Indian Land Warrior Band Makes History at Bands of America Competition! 🎶

Dear Warrior Students and Parents,

This past weekend was one to remember for Indian Land High School! My wife and I had the pleasure of traveling to Myrtle Beach on Friday to cheer on our Warrior Band as they competed in the Bands of America (BOA) Carolina Regional Championship on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Brooks Stadium on the campus of Coastal Carolina University in Conway, SC.

This incredible event marked a historic first for our school and district — it was not only the first time the Indian Land Warrior Band has ever competed in a Bands of America competition, but also the first time any band from the Lancaster County School District has participated in a BOA event!

Bands of America competitions, hosted by Music for All, are among the most prestigious and competitive marching band events in the nation, drawing top programs from across the Carolinas and beyond.

Out of 28 bands in this year’s Carolina Regional, our Warrior Band received a Superior Rating and an overall score of 72.15, finishing 14th overall and 8th in their class (3A) — an outstanding achievement for a first-time appearance!

Performance Highlights:

  • 🎵 Tied for 7th overall in General Effect Music

  • 🥁 9th overall in General Effect sub-total

  • 🎺 9th overall in Music Performance Average

These top-ten placements showcase the incredible talent, dedication, and excellence of our students and their directors. Their hard work has set a new standard of musical achievement at Indian Land High School and throughout our district.

Please join me in congratulating our Warrior Band, their instructors, and families on this historic accomplishment. You have made Indian Land High School and the entire Warrior community proud!

Next week will be a three-day school week as we enjoy Fall Break on Thursday, October 9, and Friday, October 10. We hope everyone takes time to relax and recharge!

Our Seniors who registered for the SAT will take the test on Wednesday, October 8. Good luck, seniors — we know you’ll do great!

As we wrap up the first quarter, please remember that quarter grades are checkpoint grades. The final semester grade is what appears on your transcript and determines credit for the course. Let’s finish strong and stay focused as we move into the second quarter.

We also want to remind everyone to arrive early to get through the security scanners and to class by 9:10 AM. Students arriving at 9:00 AM will not have enough time to park, walk through the scanners, and still make it to class on time. Arriving just ten minutes earlier makes all the difference!

Let’s keep up the great work and finish this quarter On Time, On Target, and Warrior Strong!
