Good afternoon! This is Rick Parker, Principal of Indian Land High School calling with a Sunday Weekly Update. We had a great week! Things are moving fast now as we have 33 school days left before Graduation Day! I reminded students last week that this is the Season of Effort right now. I asked them a question. “Have you ever been thirsty?” When you are thirsty, you crave for something to drink. After a practice, working out, or running are examples. But in this season of effort, are they thirsty for their academics as they try to finish this year strong, craving to put forth their best effort to earn their top scores. Our track sprinters are trained to always run through the finish line. You do not slow down before you get there. Please remind your child to run through that finish line and finish strong this year!
A special thank you goes out to all EOC teachers who gave their Benchmark assessments 4/1 & 4/2 & 4/3. Overall participation rates looked good! The data collected from these assessments will help us plan better for the EOY EOCs in May.
We had Prom Pledge on Wednesday where students committed to making smart choices on Prom night. Students signed a huge sign pledging to their commitment! Prom Pledge; Prom Pledge Signing Last night, we began the celebration with a Night of Glamour Prom 2025 at Winthrop University’s McBryde Hall. Our students arrived dressed to impress and dance the night away to their favorite songs in a packed house! Prom 1; Prom 2 At 10:15, all our students waited with anticipation for the Prom King and Queen to be announced. With a drumroll, Chandler Jones was named Prom King and Annalise Rossano was named Prom Queen. Prom King & Queen A special thank you to Leslie Shrum, Junior Advisor and her Junior Board, and all chaperones for their hard work to make Prom 2025 an extraordinary evening for all!
