What a beautiful weekend! I have been working in the yard and putting out pine needles! Springtime is coming and did you know about our Agriculture Greenhouse? Our FFA (Future Farmers of America) Organization has it going on! Their Greenhouse is full of plants, hanging baskets, etc. If you like working in the yard or planting a garden, you need to mark your calendar to come shopping at ILHS FFA Plant Sale April 12-15! See attached pictures!

I want to give a shoutout to our Cafeteria Managers and workers! They received a perfect 100% Grade A Rating from the health inspection,  This is hard to do! When you see them, let them know how proud you are of their accomplishment! This is the second Grade A perfect score they have received!

Congratulations are in order for Ms. Girard’s Finance Team! I am delighted to let you know that one of her teams has secured SECOND PLACE in the Spring South Carolina Finance Challenge for their division. On May 16th, at Awards Day, these students will receive student/teacher checks, certificates and 1 trophy to take back to display at school! The following students from her class are your state winners: Manaswi Kolla, Manvi Tyagi, Hasini Kayam, and Sai Alluri.

Here is What’s Important Now for next week

  • Monday, 3/24 – Winter Sports Banquet

  • Tuesday, 3/25 – Report Cards go out for Grading Period R6.

    • Please continue to check your child’s grades in Powerschool. We are all on the same team (student, teacher, parent, counselor, administrator, coach) for your child.

·     SC Climate Survey: The SC School Climate Survey: Section 59-18-900 of the Education Accountability Act requiring that annual school report cards include “evaluations of the school by parents, teachers, and students” has been extended to March 31st. We need to get over 80% of our students and staff to complete the survey and over 40% of our Parent perceptions that complete the survey. We have met the student and parent percentage but need our parents to participate. Only 48 parents so far have completed the survey. This information appears on our School Report card and provide school staff with insight to possible issues within our schools. We are working hard this year continue to improve as a team in our Academic Excellence, People Excellence, Operational Excellence, and Engagement Excellence. One parent or guardian of students enrolled in South Carolina public schools may complete one Parent and Guardian survey for each student. There is no restriction on what grade students are enrolled in for this survey; parents or guardians of students in any grade may complete the survey. I encourage you if you have not already to complete the Parent Climate Survey to do so by March 21, 2025. See attached instructions for accessing the survey.
