Here is What’s Important Now for next week:
· Recovery will be held Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (4:15pm-6:15pm) and Saturday (8am-2pm) of this week. Students will meet in the commons area promptly at 4:15.
· SC Climate Survey: Monday, 3/3, students will complete the SC Climate Survey in Homeroom. There will be no FLEX. SC School Climate Survey: Section 59-18-900 of the Education Accountability Act requires that annual school report cards include “evaluations of the school by parents, teachers, and students.” Parent perceptions as collected in the Parent Climate Survey appear on our school report card and provide school staff with insight to possible issues within our schools. Additionally, results from the Parent Climate Survey are used by the Education Oversight Committee to meet the requirements of Section 59-28- 190 of the Parental Involvement in Their Children’s Education Act. One parent or guardian of students enrolled in South Carolina public schools may complete one Parent and Guardian survey for each student. There is no restriction on what grade students are enrolled in for this survey; parents or guardians of students in any grade may complete the survey. Please see the W.A.R.R.I.O.R. Mindset Accomplishments so far this 2024-25 school year. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1x3P93_yyZzmEiwAJtQXaQ5OhKFKQRLv1xdHIEGX5YEw/edit?usp=sharing
I encourage you if you have not already to complete the Parent Climate Survey between March 3 and March 21, 2025. See attached instructions for accessing the survey.

From Ms. Bieser – Important Technology Updates
RE: Not seeing students in Classwize:
· There are reports of students using personal Chromebooks and laptops. Verify the number of students in the class against the number that appears on Classwize. If the number is different, please check to see if they are using their school-issued Chromebook. If yes, the student needs to use their assigned school-issued Chromebook and the student should be written up in the Educator's Handbook. Students who are using personal Chromebooks and laptops are in violation of the district policy.
· When the student is using their LCSD Chromebook and you do not see them on Classwize, write up the student in the Educator's Handbook.
Student Personal Devices on campus:
· Dual enrollment students are NOT allowed to be an exception to this policy to complete classes at USCL.
· If students must remain on campus due to transportation, they can take Mr. Parker's class for independent study.
· LCSD computers are not set up to allow outside meetings and classes cannot be attended through a phone, nor can I attend classes while on the ILHS campus.
· Students cannot use their own equipment on the LCSD networks/on the ILHS campus.
Lastly, I spoke to the students about GPS (Global Positioning System) and how it tracks your positioning, navigation, and timing. I asked them to think about it in another way related to school (Growth Performance System). Use their GPS to determine the precise location and position of how they are doing in school. 24 hours a day and it is free! Sources (satellites) include the Teacher, Power School, Google Classroom, and Coach. The students and parents can daily track their GPS and how are they monitoring their daily performance. “What gets monitored gets improved!”
Have a great week!
