Good afternoon, this is Rick Parker, Principal of Indian Land High School, calling with our Sunday Weekly Update. We had an amazing Gala Event at the Ballantyne Resort on Saturday, 2/22. 200+ Indian Land HS supporters filled the ballroom to raise money for our school. The event was first class with great food and entertainment and everyone dressed to impress! The PTSO staff is calculating a final total and that will be announced. Last night confirmed what I believe, “We are stronger together!”

Panorama Survey: To gain strategies for student success and a strong school culture, we have an upcoming LCSD Student Panorama Survey on March 3rd that will be given during the second period. The Panorama Survey offers a comprehensive, actionable view of every student in one system by identifying their strengths and weaknesses to improve Skills for Success Areas. Each Class of 2025, 2026, 2027, and 2028 will have identifiable strengths and weaknesses for continuous improvement through high school. The more reflective our students are, the more effective they are! Please encourage your student to complete the survey with vitality. Our goal is to achieve >95% participation on the survey so we have captured every student's responses. This year, I have charged all students to develop a PLAN for their success to get 1% better. Sometimes the smallest steps in the right direction end up being the biggest steps in your life. This survey can help with that. I have included a letter from me explaining the survey and an option to Opt-out if a parent does not want your child to participate.

SC School Climate Survey: Section 59-18-900 of the Education Accountability Act requires that annual school report cards include “evaluations of the school by parents, teachers, and students.” Parent perceptions as collected in the Parent Climate Survey appear on our school report card and provide school staff with insight to possible issues within our schools. Additionally, results from the Parent Climate Survey are used by the Education Oversight Committee to meet the requirements of Section 59-28- 190 of the Parental Involvement in Their Children’s Education Act. One parent or guardian of students enrolled in South Carolina public schools may complete one Parent and Guardian survey for each student. There is no restriction on what grade students are enrolled in for this survey; parents or guardians of students in any grade may complete the survey. You may complete the Parent Climate Survey between March 3 and March 21, 2025. See attached instructions for accessing the survey.
