You don’t want to miss the Choirs Holiday Concert! Chorus Concert is 12/17 from 6:30-7:30 pm in the auditorium.
Here is What’s Important Now for next week:
STUCO has created the Holiday Spirit Week themes. Please join in with our students to show you holiday spirit!
State EOC Make-up Exams Test Week:
This week we will be scheduling EOC make-up exams. For students who missed the EOC
Please know that your makeup EOC will be on Monday-Wednesday, December 16-18and students who need any EOC will be emailed an assigned time for the make-up Exam. For make-ups, make sure your laptop is charged daily and that you rest well each night so that you are ready for make-up testing.
We have around 75 to complete. Remember these exams count 20% of the students final grade.
Teacher Made Final Exams are Thursday, 12/19 and Friday, 12/20 (this is a half day for students). Senior Exam Exemptions:
The teacher exam schedule is as follows:
Thursday, 12/19 - Regular schedule with 3 & 4 exams
Friday, 12//20 - Student Half Day with only 1 & 2 exams.
If a senior has earned a 60 average in their courses that have a teacher made exam they are exempted from the teacher made final. However, if a senior has missed more than six days in a class, they will have to attend school on 12/19 and 12/20 to avoid going over their allotted absences per class.
Recovery:
Any student that misses more than six days in a 90-day class (three is a 45 day class) must complete Recovery to earn their grades. We have Recovery next week:
Dual Enrollment Students- do not forget to send your ILHS counselor your Student Disclaimer form, which needs to be signed by both you and your parent, a PDF of your concise schedule, and a list of ILHS classes that need to be dropped out of PowerSchool. We need these ASAP to be able to update your schedules in PowerSchool. Also do not forget that our spring break and your college’s spring break are on different weeks. You are still expected to attend classes and turn in work. Please be careful if you are on vacation that you will be able to have access to the Internet for online classes. If you have in person classes, you will not be able to go on vacation because you’ll need to be in class. Professors will not accept late work due to you being on vacation as it is not a sanctioned break by the college. All forms and directions can be found on our website: https://sites.google.com/lcsd.k12.sc.us/ilhcounseling/home/dual-enrollment?authuser=0
Cell Phone Policy: Beginning second semester, 1/7/25, Lancaster County School District will enforce the state mandate of no cell phones allowed to be used during the school day. Students may bring a phone and keep on their person, but will only be allowed to use it before school or after school. No cell phones will be allowed to be used in class, during class transitions or lunchtime as we do now. Having these conversations now to prepare for this change will help with the new district policy. Consequences on the Behavioral Student Matrix will begin with warnings and lead to Refuse to Obey. Please review the behavioral matrix to familiarize yourself with Refuse to Obey.
Schedule changes for second semester guidelines:
Please read carefully. Here is the link for the Spring 25 Course Change Form with the guidelines: https://forms.gle/wFwwJwpNp2skEKfk8

From PTSO:
Hello ILHS Parents,
It is that time of year where the PTSO is asking families to contribute to our Staff Holiday Gift Fund. This year we are doing Amazon Gift Cards for all our Staff (including Cafeteria, Custodians, Bus Drivers, Admin, SRO, Teachers and Student Teachers), which believe it or not totals almost 200 Staff Members. We have a goal to raise $4000 which would mean a $20 gift card to each staff member.
We are also working in partnership with Chef Jay Ziobrowski to host a Holiday Breakfast for all our staff on Dec 17th so we have alot of exciting things in the works to say THANK YOU to our Staff this Holiday Season.
This is where your help comes in!!
Please consider donating to make all our Staff's Holidays a Little Brighter!! After all they do deal with almost 2,000 Teenagers everyday!!
Giving is so easy as we accept all forms of payments:
Credit Card - PTSO WEBSITE
Venmo - @ILHS-PTSO
CASHAPP - $ILHSPTSO
Zelle - indianlandptso@gmail.com
Cash or Check - Drop off at Office with Family Name and Attn: PTSO Holiday Gift
We will be accepting donations through Friday Dec 20th.
A Very Special Thank You to all the 53 Families who have already donated as we have collected a total of $2,625 so far, we are hoping to reach our goal of $4,000 in the next 7 days.
Thank you so much!!
ILHS PTSO
Lastly, I leave you with this Holiday quote: “Christmas gives us the opportunity to pause and reflect on the important things around us.”
Have a great week!
