W.I.N. Update - November 10, 2024

Happy Sunday!

This is Rick Parker, Principal of Indian Land High School calling with a Sunday Weekly Update. We had a great Senior Sunrise on Tuesday! Many of our seniors enjoyed the coffee and donut truck along with the cozy fire pits and photo opps. Thank you to our PTSO for planning such a great event! We had a cool Spirit March for our Boys’ Volleyball team sending them off with a bang to the State Finals! Kudos to our Boys Volleyball Team! On Saturday, they fought hard in the State Championship but came up short, losing in the fifth game. The boys represented Indian Land well in the State championship. The strongest people aren’t always the ones who win, but who don’t give up when they lose. If you never lose, you are never truly be tested and forced to grow! I am proud of them and their season. Tomorrow is Veterans Day! Veterans are a symbol of what makes our nation great, and we should never forget all they have done to ensure our freedom!

Veterans Day Message

As we move in the next week, our third grading period for first semester ends November 18. Please take time to review your child grades in PowerSchool to do a check in of where they are. The fourth grading period in first semester will go by extremely fast due to exams and holiday break. It is critical for all students to stay up on their grades and turn all work in on time. My goal this year has been to it instill in our students the W.A.R.R.I.O.R. Mindset. Being OTOT On-Time On-Target is not just about attendance, but also grades. Senior parents, right now we have about 68 seniors that have failing grades. I encourage you to look into what’s going on with their grades as this could affect their graduation in May and walking across the stage. I will be meeting with these seniors individually before the end of the semester to check in with them as well and provide them with a letter of what courses they are under performing in and the ones needed to graduate.
