CAN I PRACTICE FOR THE SAT WITHOUT TAKING THE PSAT?
Yes!! Khan Academy offers FREE, individualized practice for the SAT. Any student can access the program and use it as much or as little as they would like.
IS THE TEST PAPER OR DIGITAL?
Digital! You’ll need to be prepared on test day with a fully charged Chromebook.
WHAT IS THE COST AND HOW DO I PAY?
The fee for PSAT at school is free for sophomores.

The NLFC College Outreach Ministry would like to invite you to their Second Annual HBCU College Fair on Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 1PM to 4PM. There will be many schools represented including Fayetteville State University, Winston Salem State University, Florida A&M University, Alabama A&M University, & many more! With some schools offering Onsite Admissions!
Admission is free of charge & open to the public. This fair is hosted every year for high school students in Charlotte & surrounding areas to be exposed to all the HBCUs in the USA.

Underclass Photo Day will be held on Wednesday, August 26, from 10:00–11:30 a.m. in the gym. Students in grades 9–11 will have the opportunity to have their school photograph taken during this time.
These photographs are important because they are used for student identification purposes and, most importantly, for inclusion in this year's school yearbook. We encourage you to be present and prepared for your photograph on August 26.

Our district is offering senior students a valuable opportunity to take either the SAT or ACT this fall, at no cost to families. This opportunity is open to all seniors, including those taking the test for the first time or those who wish to improve a previous score. Please note, students may register for only one of the two tests.
The SAT will be administered on Thursday, October 1st, and the ACT will be administered on Tuesday, October 13th, both during the regular school day at Indian Land High School.
If you would like to participate, please complete the sign up sent to your student email by August 18th. Due to strict test ordering policies set by the College Board and ACT, this deadline cannot be extended.

The SAT is a standardized test meant to show schools how prepared you are for college by measuring key skills like reading comprehension, computational ability, and clarity of expression. Because so many students take the test, it also provides schools with data about how you compare to your peers nationwide. When you take the SAT, you'll be given a total score between 400 and 1600. The SAT has two major sections: Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (combined from Reading + Writing and Language), and Math. You can earn a scaled score of between 200 and 800 points on each section.
The ACT contains four multiple-choice tests—English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science—and an optional Writing test. These tests are designed to measure skills that are most important for success in post-secondary education and that are acquired in secondary education. The score range for each of the four multiple-choice tests is 1–36. The Composite score is the average of the four test scores rounded to the nearest whole number. The ACT test is designed for the 10th, 11th, and/or 12th grade levels to provide schools and districts with the data necessary to position students for success after high school.

College Application Day will be held on August 20th in the Commons during 1st, 2nd, and 4th block. Please use the Google Form in the Google Classroom to sign up for your block of choice. You must be signed up to attend.

Select Lancaster County School District Bus Assignments 26-27 to view your child's current bus assignment and bus stop details.
Note: Late bus registrations are being assigned as quickly and safely as possible.
Morning Pick-Up & Afternoon Drop-Off: Have your student at their designated bus stop at least 10 minutes before the scheduled arrival time. Please expect potential delays, morning and afternoon, during the first few weeks as families, drivers, and traffic adjust to new daily routines.
