national school counseling week

In recognition of National School Counseling Week we will spotlight one counselor per day.

Monday we spotlighted: Mrs. Marisa King – Mrs. King graduated from Long Island University.  She’s been a school counselor for 15 years but a counselor at ILHS for 13yrs.  Mrs. King states, she became a school counselor because, “I always knew that I wanted to help people. After I became a teacher I realized I was better suited in the school counselor position. I love being a part of our student’s journey to the next adventure in their lives.”

Her favorite quote is: “Remember why you started, remember where you’re headed, think of how great it will be to get there, and keep going.”

Today we will spotlight: Ms. Tiffany Johnson– Ms. Johnson graduated from Winthrop University and received her Masters from Liberty University.  She’s been a school counselor for 1 year and a math teacher for 8 years.  Ms. Johnson states “I became a school counselor to help students in a greater capacity beyond the classroom.”

Her favorite quote is: “Find the place inside yourself where nothing is impossible.”
